Club of Rome Conference: Our Regional Director Attends as Dr Patricia Aguirre Presents Argentina Food Systems Report

Latin America is currently navigating a period shaped by multiple overlapping crises: environmental, economic, social, cultural, and political. Together, these challenges reflect the wider global polycrisis now affecting societies across the world.

At the same time, the region holds remarkable strengths and opportunities. It is one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet and home to:

  • rich ancestral cultures and knowledge systems

  • strategic freshwater reserves

  • major food production capacity

  • significant opportunities in renewable energy and sustainable development

This combination of challenge and potential makes Latin America one of the most important regions in the world for systems change and future-focused policy innovation.

Presenting the Latest Argentinian Food Systems Assessment

As part of the conference programme, Dr Patricia Aguirre will present her latest report on the Argentinian food system, contributing evidence and analysis to the growing conversation on food systems transformation, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.

Her presentation will explore key dynamics shaping Argentina’s food system, including interconnections between production, sustainability, inequality, governance, and future development pathways.

Our Regional Director will also be in attendance, engaging with partners, institutions, and regional stakeholders throughout the event.

Launch of Earth4All: Argentina

The event will also include the official launch of Earth4All: Argentina, the latest national report in the Earth4All series.

This new report explores pathways towards wellbeing and prosperity for all in the Argentinian context, using scientific modelling and expert analysis to examine how systemic change can support a fairer and more sustainable future.

Why This Matters

Food systems sit at the intersection of many of today’s biggest challenges — from health and inequality to climate resilience and economic security.

We are proud to contribute to this important international dialogue and to support evidence-based, systems-informed approaches that help organisations, governments, and communities respond to complexity with clarity and action.
